Can I get my SMS on desktop Hangouts?

I use Hangouts for my SMS on my phone, but I can't seem to see these messages on my computer.  Is there something I have to do to see my SMS messages on desktop, or other devices?

Hi!

Your carrier SMS messages will not sync across devices.  Hangouts does not sync text / SMS messages from your phone, to your desktop.  All of your other Hangout messages will show across all devices though.
